Being such a huge fan of A House of Rage and Sorrow, I knew I had to do the Tag of Rage and Sorrow. How could I not? Let’s embark on this adventure together! I haven’t done a tag in forever, so wish me luck.

The Tag!
ESMAE: A Book/Character which empowered you and made you feel strong
Wren and Lei from Girls of Paper and Fire. And Leyla from The Light at the Bottom of the World. I love my quiet strength heroines.
ALEXIE AND BEAR: A Duology you recommend with all your heart
I adore the Want duology by Cindy Pon and the Rebel Seoul duology from Axie Oh. Axie’s second novel, Rogue Heart, is more of a companion novel, whereas Ruse by Cindy Pon is a direct sequel to Want.
MAX: A Book which made you feel seen
This has got to be a tie between The How & The Why – about adoption – and Our Wayward Fate. Both of these made me feel so seen in different ways! The How & The Why is an adoption rep book I wish I had as a teen. And Our Wayward Fate reminded me of what growing up as one of the few Asian Americans felt like and the way I tried to erase my own identity.
TITANIA: A Book/Character which was witty and made you laugh
The characters from Red, White, and Royal Blue always come to mind when I think about characters that have caused me to hilariously laugh out loud.
AMBA: A Book you ended up loving even though you were not sure about it
I ended up adoring Loveboat, Taipei. It wasn’t that I wasn’t sure about it, I knew I’d probably like it for sure, but I wasn’t prepared for how much I’d love it.
KIRRIN: A Book you have mixed feelings about
Off the top of my head I guess Caraval, but that’s also because it’s my most recent read. I’ve been trying to listen to more backlist audio books and I guess I wasn’t adequately prepared due to the hype. It’s not that I didn’t like the book, I just wasn’t sure how I feel about the main character or the character growth.
KYRA: A Book/Character which turned out to be disappointing
I can’t really think of any at the moment? Every year I get better about picking books I’m more likely to like. I figure out my reading tastes more and more. So maybe this is a good thing? But if I had to pick, then maybe Don’t Call the Wolf. I loved the folklore, but that’s the only stand out in my mind.
RADHA AND SYBILLA: A Book with great supporting characters/great team
I have to think of The Gilded Wolves, Beneath the Citadel, The Bone Witch trilogy, The Reader, and The Fever King!
And I tag…
I tag Shealea, Nandini, Simant, & Brianna,
