- Kingdom of the Blazing Phoenix by Julie C Dao. I loved the first, Forest of a Thousand Lanterns
- Crown of Thunder by Tochi Onyebuchi. Same, I adored Beasts Made of Night
- The Storyteller by Traci Chee. I am such a mega fan of the whole series: The Reader and The Speaker
- For a Muse of Fire by Heidi Heilig. Having just loved The Girl from Everywhere and The Ship Beyond Time I need to read this book.
- Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand.
- Rogue Protocol by Martha Wells
- The Sisters of the Winter Wood by Rena Rossner
- The Boneless Mercies by April Genevieve Tucholke
- A Room Away from the Wolves by Nova Ren Suma
- A Blade So Black by L.L. McKinney
Yeah the killing a lion bit gave me pause, but only for a minute 🙂 Books are powerful motivators.

I am really excited for Kingdom of a Blazing Phoenix too. I loved the first novel and can’t wait to see Xifeng in all her glorious darkness.

I don’t know most of those! I know Legrand by name, and I have Forest of a Thousand Lanterns on my TBR (this reminds me I need to get on that soon), but that’s it. I need to do some investigating, see if I get said TBR list fatter than it already is 😉
This one won’t be out for a while yet, but I need King of Scars in my hands right this minute (even though I’m sure my wish for the MC to be bisexual won’t be realized, but still!!!). I really really want to read Archenemies, the last Kate Daniels book (sniff sniff :'() and Queen of Air and Darkness. Thos are the ones I remember right now.
OH wow, I haven’t read any of those, so that’s a great rec! I haven’t read the earlier Bardugo books :'(
