June Wrap Up

I thought that June was going to be a month where I’d read less…but then I ended up reading more? In total I read 40 books! Which I know I said last month was mind boggling, but this is even more so! I still can’t even believe my math is mathing right??

Books Read – 40

Out of the 40 books, I read 50% BIPOC books and 45% queer books. Which considering my goal was 50% queer books – because of Pride – I was SO close. I had some I wanted to finish in June which would have bumped me over, but I didn’t manage. In terms of books I loved, I had some excellent adult reads this month and actually four of them: The Book Eaters, The Final Strife, The Perfect Crimes of Marian Hayes & The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy.

Part of the reason June was so packed is because of the panels I’ve been moderating on Youtube. To find the entire list of July events, check out this blog post. But that’s forced me to double up on reading when my brain could only just handle it. My favorite YAs were mostly contemporary: TJ Powar Has Something to Prove, This Place is Still Beautiful, Hollow Fires, Home Field Advantage, Godslayers & Violet Made of Thorns. As you can see there’s a healthy mix of books that haven’t come out yet with books you can get right away!

I wish I could say that July is going to be more relaxed, but I’ve got a few panels left I need to prepare for…..so all bets are off! But the panels are invigorating and I love moderating them so there’s that?? Check them out on my Youtube channel!

  1. I’m constantly in awe of how much you’re able to read and hope you enjoyed these books! I can’t wait to get my hands on A Prayer for the Crown-Shy… I own the first on Kindle but with how much I adored it, I might have to get them in hardcover. Happy reading!
