Book Drop Subscription Box Review

Can there be anything better than getting a fantastic book each month and supporting independent bookstores? No. The Book Drop is the answer to your calls.

The Book Drop June Box ReviewWhat Do You Get & The Nitty Gritty

Each month you get one trade paperback, a note from the curators of the box, and a brochure that features other new Indie books. It is not guaranteed, but you often get a letter from the other, a signed book, or a signed bookplate.

They have  four categories: The Jane, the Ernest, the Young Adult, and children’s books. The Jane is the perfect box for book clubs, including books from historical, contemporary, or literary fiction. The Ernest includes books from the genres of thriller, action, or suspense. It’s pretty self-explanatory what genre the Young Adult box includes: Young Adult. There’s also a box for children’s books too!

What does it cost? It is $16 per month + shipping for the Jane and the Ernest. For the US shipping is 3.99, Canada it’s $16, and $26 worldwide. If you buy a subscription for multiple months at one time, you can pay a little less when you subscribe for six months. The Young Adult box is $13 and the Children’s Box is $9.

Where can I sign up? You can sign up on their website.

The June Box & Why It’s Special

I was sent the June Jane box and I absolutely love it. First off, the paperback they chose is absolutely gorgeous (photos courtesy of my mom since I wasn’t home when this arrived and I couldn’t wait!) Plus I can’t get over the whole color scheme. I have never heard of this book, but it looks pretty perfect for the Book Drop! I haven’t begun reading it yet, but I am looking forward to it. It looks like a perfect Summer read.

This month we have a signed bookplate too! I am becoming a major fan of signed bookplates and signed books in general. They’ve become something that make the whole book a bit better. There’s a fantastic letter in here that explains more about the book FROM THE AUTHOR. Both of these unique touches really bump up the value of the box, in my opinion.

Also the book for the YA box was Girl Out of the Water by Laura Silverman, which I have heard GREAT things about.

BUT what really makes this book box so special, and worthwhile in my opinion, is the fact that you’re supporting an independent bookstore. The more I become aware of the industry, the more I want to support independent bookstores. Given the pressures within the industry, it is crucial to support other voices and retailers.

Combined with the value and personalization of the box, how could I not LOVE it?

You can look at their past books here.

A gift subscription would make the perfect gift for anyone on your list. I believe that books are some of the most important books we can give people.

Disclaimer: I was sent the June box by Bethany Beach Books in exchange for an honest review.
