I am very picky with the picture books I review, since I don’t normally review them. But when I saw Anjali Can! I knew I wanted to review it. It’s a perfect read for young readers who want to believe their voice can make a difference. Keep reading this book review of Anjali Can! for my full thoughts.
Summary
The local community center is a second home to Anjali. It’s where she met her best friends; it’s her favorite spot for game and movie nights; and it’s where she learned to play tabla.
Anjali has so many happy memories there, but now the community center is closing! Unwilling to let the center shut down for good, Anjali is determined to keep the place open. Some people may say there’s nothing she can do, but Anjali knows better–she can and must take action! There is no stopping her.
Review

(Disclaimer: I received this book from the publisher. This has not impacted my review which is unbiased and honest.)
Anjali Can! is a story about activism and community. It’s a testament to the fact that our voices, even when we’re young, matter. We are never too young to say something and it often just takes one voice. I loved the use of color and particularly spacing of the illustrations in Anjali Can!. I’ve already gifted this book to some parents for them to be able to read to their child. In these times, more than ever, this joyful reminder about the strength of our voices is a welcome addition to the shelves.
