Top Ten Tuesday: Books Set in Fictional Worlds

I know last Top Ten Tuesday I teased that I would do a top ten Tuesday that focused not on books set in a different country, but a fictional world. To me, this prompt seems way easier to do. Fantasy is one of my favorite genres. And if you wanted me to do top ten books set in space, don’t worry, I’ll work that one in for you too.

(Fictional) Fantasy Worlds

  1. The Reader / The Speaker by Traci Chee.
  2. The Girl from Everywhere / The Ship Beyond Time by Heidi Heilig.
  3. Six of Crows / Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
  4. The Fifth Season / The Obelisk Gate / The Stone Sky by N.K. Jemisin
  5. The Girl With the Red Balloon by Katherine Locke
  6. Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi
  7. Wild Magic / Tempests of Slaughter by Tamora Pierce
  8. The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton
  9. Alchemists of Loom / Dragons of Nova / Rebels of Gold by Elise Kova
  10. Reign of the Fallen by Sarah Glenn Marsh
  11. Every Heart a Doorway / Down Among the Sticks and Bones / Beneath a Sugar Sky by Seanan McGuire

I totally didn’t pick 11….Okay I thought of 10 and 11 at the same time and it only felt right I include them both/all four of them.

  1. I wouldn’t mind seeing a “space” version! I love posts like this! I’m really curious about McGuire’s Doorway books, and Reign of the Fallen too since I read a different book by Sarah Glenn Marsh and thought it was good.

  2. Your #1 and #2 picks have been on my TBR for awhile, I feel like…I’m especially curious about Heilig’s world! For some reason, I thought The Girl with The Red Balloon was historical fiction?? I need to take a closer look at it, haha.
