Sunshine Blogger Tag Round 2

So this is the second time I was tagged to do this, and love how the tag always makes you think of new questions. I was tagged by Huntress of Diverse Books. I am so happy to be tagged, because I seriously am always wondering if I’ll ever get tagged, so this warms my little heart!ย  The deal is the same as last time, but here it is again if you’ve forgotten:

To accept this award, I must:
  • Thank the person(s) who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo on your post and/or on your blog.

So without further ado, let’s just get into the Tag.

1. What is your favourite time of the day to read?

I love reading in the nighttime aright before dinner, but also in the morning. I generally read all the time, but these are my favorites. Whenever I’m trying to wind up or down basically.

2. Do you like to listen to music while reading? If yes, what kind of music?

Nope, I need silence. I’ve tried listening to instrumental music, but it just doesn’t work.

3. What was your favourite book/series in your childhood?

Probably the Daine Wild Magic series. That was my dream life there – being able to communicate with animals. I couldn’t think of anything cooler, I didn’t want to fight, just talk to them.

4. What is your favourite trope to read about?

Well I love dystopias, even though they generally follow a pattern: a person who is outcast in some way, or choose exile, who discover the world isn’t what it is supposed to be, is punished, and joins a rebellion. You know, that general pattern. I also like friends to lovers as a trope!

5. How much do book covers influence your reading choices?

Unfortunately about fifty fifty. In picking up an arc it’s a somewhat influencing factor, but in recommendations from friends not at all. In bookstores, it’s a huge factor for me.

6. What do you most enjoy about book blogging?

Reading. I really do not enjoy writing reviews, they’re long and hard to form the words I need.

7. What hobbies, other than reading, do you have? I am assuming that one of your hobbies is reading, since Iโ€™ve nominated book bloggers.

I love drinking tea, but also dancing. I have been trying to get back into it, which was hard when I was moving, and is still hard for the same reasons. But I enjoy dancing so much.

8. Which character do you wish you were friends with in real life?

Sydney from An Unkindness of Magicians because she is strong, compassionate, and could use a non magic wielding friend like me. Also she is just so amazing and I’d fawn all over her – not that she’d like that, so I’d keep it inside.

9. Which characterโ€™s wardrobe would you like to have?

I’m going to go out of the book world and pick Joan from Elementary. She is my stye role model. Like if I could just have her whole entire wardrobe that’d be perfect, okay? Thank you!

10. What medium do you prefer for your reading? Paperbacks, e-book readers, PC, hardcovers, etc?

Paperbacks and ebooks. I hate reading on my PC, it’s just so tiring and difficult to find the time. Also carrying hardcovers just takes so much weight and I’m usually lugging my computer on my four hour commute, so it’s a hike either way, no need to add extra weight.

11. In which bookish universe would you like to live?

Can I just say the world from An Unkindness of Magicians. A magical NYC? I GET IT, I’m obsessed. It could be my answer for almost all of these questions – but that’d be boring right? I shouldn’t go and re-do this entire post?

Nominations

I nominate the same people as always, but I’m asking new questions I promise!

Green Tea and Paperbacks, Two Book Thieves, FLYLEF, Foxes and Fairytales, A Kernel of Nonsense, Darque Dreamer Reads, Writing Wolves, Arctic Books, Reader and Proud, Word Wonders, RimpysReads, and Avalinah’s Books

Questions

  1. Make me a meal with books. What would we have for appetizer, mains, desert, soup, salad, etc? For example, what’s a good book to start with? What book is so sweet you’d have it for desert?
  2. On the note of food, tell me what literary sweet thing you’d bake for someone’s birthday?
  3. And because I love food forever, what book scene with food is your favorite? Is it a food fight? A scene of a feast? I am obsessed with eating in books not only because they are so vivid, but because characters don’t need food to eat, so each mention has significance and consideration.
  4. What is the book cover you wish you could re-do?
  5. Who would be in your pirate crew?
  6. What is your favorite under rated TV show? (I need some recommendations)
  7. Pick me a character you’d fight a dragon with, a character you’d duel, and a character you’d go on an epic quest with.
  8. What would be your mythical pet?
  9. What do we need to see a retelling of? (retellings are my favorite)
  10. If I could only read one book next year, what book should I read?
  11. What narrative do you think the publishing world is severely lacking? For me it’s adoption narratives.

  1. I also love drinking tea (but I don’t do it that much at the moment). What are your favourite teas?

What kind of dancing do you do? I dance everyday just to relax!

Talking to animals is one of my favourite storylines. I’d love to be able to talk to an otter or a cheetah! Also cobras would be fascinating!

    1. I love peach teas. Fruit teas and black teas with fruit haha! I had this great tea yesterday that had black tea, cinnamon, cardamom, allspice, honey, lemon juice, and apple cider vinegar!

I don’t do particular dancing because it’s been hard enough to stay in one spot long enough, home wise, to enroll in classes! ๐Ÿ™

  2. I also love tea and dancing! Unfortunately, I haven’t been dancing for a long time, cause… time. Mostly.
You have amaaaaazing questions though! But I’ve recently done this one so I don’t know if I will be doing it. Let me just say though, if you got to read only that one book, plus you like dystopias, I would give you The Girl With All The Gifts ๐Ÿ™‚ of course, you’ve read it! Have you? And a very close runner up, plus it’s longer, would be Stephen King’s The Stand. Have you read that one? PLEASE TELL ME YOI HAVE. ๐Ÿ˜€

      1. I don’t have The Boy On The Bridge yet ๐Ÿ™‚ did you like it?
I wouldn’t say The Stand is scary, but it’s dark in that special way that Stephen King writes so well. It’s very well written as well! You totally have to read it ๐Ÿ™‚ not everything he writes is horror, I wouldn’t put that in the horror shelf, at least from what I remember.

  3. You got asked some great questions and you asked some awesome ones too. I love the one about if you could read only one book next year, what would it be. The book I’ve been reading is a good candidate. It’s The Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio and it’s a collection of 100 short stories that are being told by the characters so it’s kind of like several books in one.
