Love at First Sighting was so cute! This is such a fun take on a paranormal slightly supernatural romance. For fans of aliens and influencers – I know right?? – this is for you! Keep reading this book review of Love at First Sighting for my full thoughts.
Summary
Los Angeles social media influencer El Martin seems to live the perfect aesthetic life. But what El wants more than anything is to find something real to make her heart race in a way it hasn’t in years. She doesn’t expect that feeling to come from capturing footage of an unidentified flying . . . thing, much less from the charming Man in Black who keeps following her around.
Agent Carter Brody is trying his best to keep the Private Intelligence Sector afloat by dragging their hopelessly out-of-date office into this century, even though what he really wants to do is follow in his father’s footsteps identifying and hiding extraterrestrial sightings. He gets his chance after being assigned to El’s case and is stopped in his tracks not only by her ingenuity and confidence, but also by the unnerving coincidence of how her sighting looks eerily like what he saw right before a family tragedy.
The deeper El and Carter fall into the mystery, the harder it is for them to ignore their growing chemistry, as their own alien feelings become dangerously terrestrial.
Review

(Disclaimer: I received this book from the publisher. This has not impacted my review which is unbiased and honest.)
This dual POV romance brought me so much joy. Love at First Sighting is such a fun mix between alien sightings, FBI tails, and our universal quest to find something real. Whether you’re an influencer burnt out from the grind and just wishing we could be real or a FBI agent who’s trying to figure out if we’re all alone on Earth. Their search for something real, to hang onto the hope of something in this world, feels supremely universal. I obviously could relate the most to El and this world, this facade, she’s created. El isn’t sure if she can handle being real, showing the cracks in our armor. Who would want that?

With some major crushes, Love at First Sighting isn’t afraid to show us something real. I’m not sure what was in the water, but this book swept me away. I’m not normally an aliens-are-real fan, but it just works. I think both of these characters feel so likeable, so vulnerable, and also the yearning is so high here. This romance captures their fragile hope to embrace a spark someone lights within us.
