Summary

Love at First Fright is delightful. I instantly loved how Love at First Fright is about a character who wants to break out of their mold and another who feels stuck in theirs. We witness both Rosemary and Ellis, their insecurities, and expectations. It’s a story about expectations, smashing through what we think, and breaking our own self-expectations. If you love a horror expert who helps introduce someone else to horror, then you have to read Love at First Fright. As a horror newbie, this was such a fun element! Love at First Fright discuses the pressure of you become addicted to the praise. We lose the joy of our passions and what makes us happy.

Love at First Fright was the perfect wind down book before bed. Their individual journeys and character work was so fantastic. Additionally, I adored the historical fiction lens with the ghosts and the exploration of queer identity in the past. I had no idea we’d go there in Love at First Fright and I adored it. In Love at First Fright we see how important it is to have someone who is a safe space to land. A harbor where we can dock in reprieves from being brave.
