Review: Everything About You by Robby Weber

Some people thrive on competition and some don’t, but what happens when you prepare for a summer where you get a rival hoisted on you? That’s the premise of Everything About You. It devolves into a story about sabotage, growing feelings, and being unsure about the future. Keep reading this book review of Everything About You for my full thoughts.

Summary

Milo is determined to have the most magical summer in Paris after winning an apprenticeship at a prestigious fashion house. The plan is work hard, impress the team, and land a permanent job. With his best friend Celeste by his side, nothing will stand in his way of getting what he wants—especially not a boy.

Enter Rhodes London’s resident tabloid magnet and the son of a famous footballer. Milo is devastated to learn that Rhodes’ connections have also landed him an apprenticeship, which means he’s now the competition. Milo knows he has to win at any cost, so he can’t risk getting close to Rhodes, no matter how nice and charming and cute he is . . .

(Disclaimer: I received this book from the publisher. This has not impacted my review which is unbiased and honest.)

When Milo’s plans get derailed and he finds out he’s actually in a rivalry for his dreams, he’s understandably upset. Not to mention, his rival is gorgeous, well connected, and already famous? In Everything About You what happens when we start to fall for our rival? Milo’s whole dreams revolve around Paris, this fashion house, and this apprenticeship. This summer Milo will have to figure out what is really worth his future. Everything About You gives “Devil Wears Prada” vibes while being set in Paris. If you love fashion houses, then this is a must read.

I’m always a sucker for a good rivalry and even more so when we start having feelings. While I enjoyed Everything About You, there were some events at the end with Rhodes which I wasn’t sure about. It reminded me of that video I saw on Tiktok which said couples should breakup at least once to see how we are treated at the worst and to see how they handle conflict. I wasn’t sure about some of the events towards the end, but since we’re so firmly planted in Milo’s POV, it’s also harder to see Rhode’s thoughts. At various points, I actually resonated more with his best friend’s advice as well, but it’s very much a quick summer fling which has us questioning what we thought mattered to us.

I really appreciate that theme, especially within the YA age group. Everything About You was really fun and it’s definitely good for fans of fashion books! Find Everything About You on Goodreads, Storygraph, Amazon, Bookshop. org, Blackwells, & Libro. fm.
