Review

Earthbound is an emotional roller coaster. We are thrown headfirst into war, the cruelties and the merciless backstabbing. I loved being back in this world, but SO much has happened since we first we introduced. With multiple perspectives in this world, we are able to see the world unfurling in front of us. The ways that these actions are going to being the fraying, strengthen something, or show us the irreparable cracks. There are mountains of obstacles and various parties at play here. And we have to ask ourselves, what happens if peace isn’t a possibility? At various times I was smiling and my heart was breaking.
Earthbound asks us whether the consequences of our actions will catch up to us. If the world will have a reckoning or if we will be responsible for the cracking. If we can find a semblance of the future with further cracks. What would we do for freedom and the truth. I liked this series ender, although maybe a re-read was in order to fully immerse myself emotionally. I am so glad it ended this way, but it was bittersweet to say goodbye! I still remember the emotional whiplash of Faebound and Cursebound so closing this chapter feels strange.
