Sparks Fly is such a fun romance book which will have you in your feels! I have been discovering so many great books at the end of the year and this one is on the list! Keep reading this book review of Sparks Fly for my full thoughts.
Summary
When Stella Renee Johnson’s roommate invites her to a sex club party but bails at the last minute, Stella decides to use the opportunity to finally cash in her V-card. But just when things are heating up between Stella and a sexy stranger, they realize they don’t have protection and Stella, taking it as a sign this wasn’t meant to be, flees.
Frustrated in more ways than one, Stella is shocked to learn that the digital media website where she works is partnering with an AI company. She’s even more shocked when the alluring man from the previous night walks in. Max Williams is the CEO’s brother and the creator of the AI program now threatening her job.
Despite the conflict of interest, Stella and Max can’t resist their magnetic attraction toward each other, and agree to keep their personal lives separate from what’s happening at work. But the more similarities they discover at home—both Black, book smart, and bisexual—the more they butt heads at work. Sparks Fly begins with such a fun meet cute and continues as a story which asks us whether two people can really make it work. We can think our backgrounds, our jobs, our experiences are too different, but what if it could still work? I was hooked immediately and love the side character friends so much. Sparks Fly is a multi-layered romance which explores friendship, the ethics of AI, and was the best before bed read. This is a spicy, hilarious, and heartwarming read all at once. I was expecting to love this one and I did!

I loved the chemistry in Sparks Fly and how Stella and Max get to know each other. The pacing in this book was spot on as they share these experiences and the build up and tension.
