I still cannot believe that March is already over. I have been so unbelievably busy this month. While I’ve gotten used to more at my job, managing six reviews a week has been such a struggle. It’s been difficult to retain my love of reading and my eyes. With both of these things, I’ve been working 10 hours a day combined and then every day on the weekend. It’s a lot. Don’t get me wrong, I love what I do and even my job, but I wanted to be more honest this month, in general, about the struggles and strain of being a full time employee and a book blogger.
So to talk a bit more about this, I want to talk about what I try to de-stress.
What I Do
Now you can find a good post on this on NovelKnight’s blog, when I did my guest post. But I’ve been making different choices and evolving what I do to address my anxiety issues.
- Reading comics before bed, NOT books. I don’t read my book reviewing books OR for fun books. I just want to turn my brain off.
- Incorporating face masks into my book post writing routine.
- Trying, and mostly failing, to put one day a week on the side for no writing posts/reviews. This barely ever happens, but when it does, it feels like a breath of fresh air.
Hmm I think reading comics instead of books before bed might be a good idea. They are easier to read for me.
Yes! And they normally have the end of an issue, so a distinct point – not like 20 page chapters of a book!
