Summary
Rosalyn Devar is on the run from her famous family, the bioengineering job she’s come to hate, and her messed-up life. Salvaged stars Rosalyn a recovering alcohol addict who finds herself in the middle of an alien infection and a conspiracy. Salvaged is a thriller that delivers mystery, conspiracy, and sacrifice. It’s entertaining and a fast read. What surprised me was that we get a few chapters of perspective from some of the alien parasite victims which was a refreshing twist on a story that feels vaguely familiar to me.
Because of that, I found Salvaged to be an interesting take on the idea of agency and infection. What remains within us when we’ve been infected? These chapters stood out to me the most because of their unique nature and the role they play in the larger mystery story. When memories are used as weapons of control. You’re never really sure what is happening in Salvaged.
