Summary

It’s her wedding day and it’ll be the happiest day of her life…won’t it?

Amanda Dean would say she’s an okay artist and a loyal friend, but what she’s best at is falling in love. A self-proclaimed bi disaster who has had her heart broken more times than she cares to count, Amanda can’t help opening herself up. As she gets ready on the day she’s waited a lifetime for, memories of her past loves run through her mind, with one glaring red sign blinking above them—is this “the one”?

Will it be:

the fit water polo player,

the fashionista,

the dependable hedge fund manager,

or the one where the timing was never quite right.

Now, on the day of her wedding—a day where everything already seems to be going wrong—Mandy must decide if she’s willing to risk it all one last time or if she’ll escape while her whole heart is still intact.

Review

(Disclaimer: I received this book from the publisher. This has not impacted my review which is unbiased and honest.)

The Seemingly Impossible Love Life of Amanda Dean is like the epitome of FOMO. Through a series of time jumps, it explores the people who come into our lives for a moment and the ones we cannot let go of. It explores falling in love, breaking up, and having those regrets that haunt us in the middle of the night. At the beginning, there’s this mystery about who Amanda might be marrying, but at the end of the day, it’s about all the days before that. The decisions, and people, which put us on this path.

Amanda is a character that jumps off the page. It’s easy to get caught up in her regrets, her fears, and her doubts. The ways there are some people who get away, missed chances and connections. All these words we wish we had never said or wish we could say. My biggest complaint was that the time jumps and different time lines were a little confusing at times. There aren’t like numerous different timelines – instead a few different major ones. But the different jumps back and forth had moments of confusion.

That being said, The Seemingly Impossible Love Life of Amanda Dean is a book that discussed these lingering regrets. It’s extremely relatable as we wonder how Amanda’s day will end.
